evaplan am Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg GmbH ist derzeit im Angebotsprozess für die Durchführung eines Projektes im Rahmen des Nepalesischen Gesundheitssektorprogramme der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Entwicklungszusammen GmbH (GIZ). In diesem Zusammenhang suchen wir einen Internationalen Langzeitexperten mit Public Health und/oder medizinischem Hintergrund. Die Position als Teamleiter ist als Vollzeit Position für 22 Monate angedacht. Details zur Stellenbeschriebung und den Anforderungen befinden sich am Ende dieser Email.

General Qualification

  • Medical or nursing/midwifery degree (higher medical education) and/or a degree in public health/health care with at least five years working experience in this field

Specific Qualification

  • S/he holds a specialization in gynaecology/obstetrics/general medicine or an advanced degree (master level) in gynaecology/obstetrics, sexual and reproductive health, nursing/midwifery or in health care management/business administration
  • Extensive experiences with quality assurance in health facilities will be an added advantage

General Skills

  • At least five years of experience of project management in developing countries (any) is mandatory
  • Client and partner orientation, efficient work practices, interdisciplinary thinking and training experience are required
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is must
  • Good German and Nepali are assets

Additional skills

  • Familiarity with GIZ’s Capacity WORKS management model (or has to prove certification by the end of the first three months)
  • Familiarity with relevant BMZ publications on health and the Muskoka Initiative in particular, and those on working in conflict sensitive contexts, inclusion of people with disabilities, human rights and others.

Project Objectives

The objective of the TC module (“Health Sector Support Programme”) is “the population, particularly young people and pregnant women, use the improved reproductive health services in the supported districts”. The programme follows a multi-level approach, which combines implementation in ten districts with accompanying policy advice at the national level.

The here tendered package forms part of the field of action (1): ‘Improved quality of medical care especially for mothers and newly born’ of the overall support. As a result of the planned activities it is expected that in the partner districts the supply of appropriate, customer-oriented neonatal and obstetric services will be improved. This includes improving clinical capacities as well as management and governance capacities. The main areas of support therefore will be:

  1. Improving basic and comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care (skills building)
  2. enhancing facility management
  3. creating a functioning referral system
